DIRECTV makes Saquon Barkley hurdle every obstacle between fans and football

DIRECTV · Saquon Barkley · July 2026

DIRECTV turned the increasingly complicated business of finding a football game into an obstacle course and recruited one of the sport’s most famous athletes to clear it.

In One Place for Football, Saquon Barkley undergoes an absurd training regime involving jumps, flips and increasingly elaborate hurdles. The physical barriers mirror the maze awaiting viewers on game day: scattered apps, channels, passwords, platforms, devices and remotes.

The casting does more than add fame. Barkley’s signature hurdle is the creative mechanism. A player celebrated for clearing defenders becomes the perfect person to dramatise what fans should not have to do before they can watch him play.

DIRECTV positions itself as the destination beyond the obstacle course, bringing live games, streaming apps, scores, highlights and personalised sports discovery into one experience. The campaign extends across television, digital video, social and online advertising throughout the US football season.
